I always had (still have) a soft spot for Yew's mum, Quickthorn, and first met Yew as a very young foal at Heathpool. As he grew up he became a very special pony to me, and despite my sensible side telling me I didn't have the space, time or money, he joined my expanding herd in 2006. He was gelded shortly after and is currently learning to be a riding pony. He did me proud at the Royal Highland Show in 2007, coming 4th in his class in one of his first ever outings in a trailer or away from home. Yew was recently backed and took it all in his stride.
