419/3
Submitted by exmoorllent on Wed, 10/22/2008 - 22:33Well, today was a big day for us, baby Charlie aka 'Cherish the Ladies' was inspected by Vivien Taylor and Gaye Sinclair from the Exmoor pony society and passed his inspection allowing him to be registered in the main body of the Exmoor Pony Studbook. This brings the herd to its third member, and I have high hopes for this one! He was very well behaved, and for a pony not even haltered three weeks ago did us proud.
Freia joins the herd
Submitted by exmoorllent on Wed, 10/15/2008 - 22:10On 1st October, Freia (418/1) joined us for the winter. Freia belongs to Katie Adam who recently moved back to Aberdeenshire. She's with us for the winter until Katie can find grazing nearer home. Freia was born in the same year as Amelie and the pair were great pals. She seems to be settling in fine, despite some initial ructions as everyone readjusted to having a new member of the herd!
Pictures to follow!!
New Deer Show
Submitted by exmoorllent on Sat, 07/19/2008 - 21:33Saturday 19th July
Today we went to New Deer Show, which is fairly local to me. As we were transport sharing with a neighbour only Yew went. The day started early, with lovely grooms Tasha and Katie scrubbing the muddy bits which had appeared courtesy of a night of rain. Yew loaded with only a little persuasion!! The show itself was a little scary.

Highland Show Ponies
Submitted by exmoorllent on Sun, 06/22/2008 - 10:00Sadly I missed the Royal Highland Show this year, but congratulations are in order to Lilliesleaf (309/13) owned and bred by Alison Downing and shown by Miriam Geraghty who came second in Mountain and Moorland yearlings in hand.

Bug (419/2) also made an appearance and came fourth in the same class, doing some very enthusiastic trotting in hand (which for those of you who know him is an achievement in itself) I am waiting for pictures from Tasha and will upload those later.
Tasha Georges' other pony Zeno (unregistered) came third in Riding Ponies in Hand under 12.2hh meaning he joined Lillie in the grand parade.
I believe there were several other exmoors at the show too, its really nice to see more and more mealies out and about.
Welcome!!!
Submitted by matthew_ellis24 on Fri, 06/20/2008 - 13:20Hello and welcome to Rosie's new website. You can use the add comment button under the blog entries to comment on the blog entries that Rosie will hopefully be keeping you up to date with. You can also leave comments on individual pony pages (For example Charlie and Yew)and tell Rosie how lovely they're all looking in her guestbook. Have fun!

Backing the babies
Submitted by exmoorllent on Thu, 06/19/2008 - 10:04Now that Yew is four I decided it was time to climb aboard. I've been putting it off because most of the time I'm up here on my own with no-one to hold etc! I've been doing a lot of groundwork with them but never been quite brave enough for the next step!

In the event it was all quite calm, not bucking, fussing, running away etc!
Amelie, not to be left out, had Matt up for a few minutes. Its difficult to forget how young she is with her being bigger than everyone else, but its good to have it done now. She just LOVES learning things!
